8th Annual Haverford Music Festival is coming on Saturday, Sept 8th!
John Paul White, Sloan, Lily & Madeline, PI Power Trio and Cliff Hillis top the bill of more than 30 acts for a full day of late-summer family fun

88.5 WXPN presents the 8th Annual Haverford Music Festival (HMF), presented by ACME Markets, on Saturday, September 8th. Featuring live music from 30 national, regional and local performers, this family-oriented event will run from noon to 9:30 p.m. on four stages near the intersection of Eagle and Darby Roads in Havertown. Area businesses and food vendors will fill booths along Darby Road and Hathaway Lane. There will also be two beer gardens, a moon bounce and playground for the kids, and much more fun. Admission is free; voluntary donations will be accepted at the gates.

The Haverford Music Festival is a family music festival that strengthens the cultural identify of Haverford Township, serves as the primary fundraiser for the Haverford Township Civic Council (HTCC), and provides funding for projects that enhance the quality of life in Haverford Township.

Headlining the 8th Annual HMF will be singer/songwriter John Paul White, formerly of Grammy Award-winning Americana duo The Civil Wars; Sloan, the acclaimed Canadian power-pop quartet; Lily & Madeleine, harmonizing sisters from Indiana who worked with John Mellencamp on his recent Ghost Brothers of Darkland County album and tour; and the PI Power Trio, featuring Pat Irwin, longtime touring guitarist with the B-52s.

The Haverford Music Festival is an all-volunteer run event that makes a huge annual impact on our community!    No experience is necessary and we always welcome new volunteers who want to help, whether you can work one 2-3 hour shift or more.   We are especially looking for that special breed of volunteer who will show up early on Saturday to help us set up the stages and festival grounds or will stay late to help us clean up after the last notes have faded.

TRAIL WORK: On Your Own Schedule – Finish the Pennsy Trail, Llanerch Section
Llanerch Civic Association and Friends of Haverford Trails Lay Down 1/4 mile of Trail on 10/10/15

Friends and the Llanerch Civic Assn. matted and chipped about 2/3 of the trail section from Manoa to the end near the Llanerch Shopping Center (aka LA Fitness) but there is plenty left to do.  You can come out on your own schedule or email us and let us know if you want to be put on an email “short list” for when we go out on the spur of the moment to finish it off.  Email Ryan at xenius@gmail.comand he will let you know what you can do on your own and when we will be going back out.

Volunteer to help us do more! If we had more volunteers, we could run Bike Safety Rodeos, lead more hikes and more bike rides and have more trail building events.  Some of our core group of volunteers has been too busy this summer to field a full schedule of hikes and bike rides and we are looking for new volunteers who love trails, hiking and biking to step up.  Please help us and encourage friends and family to help as well!  Please reach out by email at peter.puglionesi@appliedehs.com or rich.kerr@verizon.net.
