Haverford Township Civic Council Offers Grants
Application Deadline: December 3rd
The Haverford Township Civic Council is pleased to report that the 2016 Haverford Music Festival was again a huge success! Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Acme, our platinum sponsor WXPN 88.5, and our diamond sponsors iRadioPhilly, Main Line Health, Xfinity, and 101.1 More FM for their generous support.
In addition to being a wonderful community event, the music festival is the primary fundraiser for the Civic Council - a way for us to provide seed money for our member groups. We are now soliciting requests from Haverford Township non-profit groups that need financial support for special projects that benefit Haverford Township residents. These grants could range from $500 to $5,000+.
Project ideas will be evaluated based on their alignment with the Civic Council's funding priorities. Our primary considerations are that:
The program, service, or event directly benefits Haverford Township residents.
The program, service, or event is open to the public and impacts many residents, rather than a limited group.
The program, service, or event must be non-religious and non-political.
In addition, we may consider the following during the evaluation process:
The grant proposal is for seed money for a new initiative, rather than maintaining or expanding an existing program, service, or event.
Funds are used for a tangible and permanent addition to the Township (as opposed to a one-time service or event).
The requesting organization is grass-roots with a small budget and no full-time staff.
The program, service, or event is outside the scope of the Township government and/or represents a significant addition to Township life.
The requesting organization is currently an active member of the Civic Council (pays annual dues and sends representatives to annual meetings).
Please note the following:
The grant funds must be spent within 365 days (a calendar year) of the award. Consideration may be given for longer-term projects; please specify in your grant application (below).
The grant recipient must provide a report detailing how the funds were spent and how the project was executed (further details on reporting requirements will be included in grant award letters).
To apply, please prepare a grant proposal including all of the following information.
Organization contact and purpose/mission:
Project name (e.g. new planters in business district)
Detailed, one to two-page narrative description of project. Explain what need the project will address in the Township and how it benefits Township residents (these can be neighborhood specific), and describe the intended actions.
Detailed explanation of the expected outcomes - be as specific as possible (e.g., how many people reached, how many planters installed, etc.)
Estimated total project budget
