The Haverford Heritage Trail

Come experience the natural beauty and heritage of our community!

Locations along the Haverford Heritage Trail

The Haverford Heritage Trail is a 13.5 mile loop trail under development around and through Haverford Township linking key historical sites. To date most of the trail has been mapped using existing roads, streets, parkland and trails already in use.  The Haverford Heritage Trail Committee was designated an Action Priority by the Haverford Township Civic Council in April 2009.  A project is underway to make and install route direction signs to define the trail and numbered location signs to indicate the historic site locations.

Major portions of the Heritage Trail coincide with existing trails (e.g., at Haverford Reserve) and potential future multi-use trails (e.g., Darby Creek Trail).  These and other future walkability and bikeability improvements will provide a unique blend of access to Haverford's rich history, exercise and access to beautiful natural areas within Haverford.

Look for the planned installation of Trail signs and the publication of a trail map.

The Friends of Haverford Trails will be a contributing steward of the Haverford Heritage Trail.  This includes maintaining signage and off-road trail portions of the Heritage Trail. A significant portion of the Heritage Trail is located off-road along Darby Creek, where volunteer maintenance and improvement work will be undertaken.

For more information on the Heritage Trail, see its webpage: http://www.haverfordhistoricalsociety.org/heritage-trail.html
